It took 4 trips to the dealer , an escalation to the service manager, begging for a loaner (so I didn’t go broke with Uber rides), and a ride around the block with the shop foreman. But by God they fixed my roof.

It was rattling like..... . Uh, well, like a Mustang. But they got new clips and adjusted the latches until it stopped rattling. All fixed under warranty.

It’s a Christmas miracle!

It sucks that you had to go through that to fix a brand new car.

Glad its done though.

I really like that interior, from what I can see. Glad it’s no longer a rattletrap.

Damn dealerships can rarely figure out rattle fixes, good on them/you! Currently dealing with it on my father’s Accord with no luck.

Thanks -I was wondering if they’d ever get it fixed. But it’s all good now.

Gotta love arguing with the dealership to fix something they should be fine with working on anyway.

Yea, I feel you. You really have to push back. It helps to take a ride with the tech or shop manager to make SURE they know what they’re looking for. Just describing it means almost nothing.

They’re good for rides under 2 hours. I tortured my son and some of his friends with a 4 hour  ride to the beach last summer. They kind of hated me at the end.

THIS. So much this. As a current tech, I require a ride along for any noise complaint.

Yea, they were actually nice about it. They never really fought back much. They would tell me it’s fixed, I would pick it up, it would still rattle, I’d take i t back, they’d apologize, repeat until I was totally frustrated. The service manager finally looped in the foreman, and they were both very nice.

It took a ride-along with the foreman to really get them the say “YES, we acknowledge the exact sound you’re hearing and we won’t give it back until it’s fixed”.

When I had my S3, I was sure I had a wheel bearing going bad. The Audi dealer didn’t believe me, blaming tires despite the fact that I had two sets, one summer, one winter and the noise was the same with each . Anyway, I ended up having to agree to pay for a diagnostic if they didn’t find a warrantable condition. It took about 5 minutes in the car with a tech to confirm my supposition, he was like, “oh yeah, wheel bearing, let’s head back.”

Ugh.

Ugh. Why is there always a disconnect between the service manager and the tech?
